For the first time, Samsung’s three flagships will have a single battery saving feature

Back in August, Ice Universe leaks revealed that all three Galaxy S24 models will get Low Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) displays, which will reduce refresh rates to 1Hz when static content such as emails or texts appear on the screen. Reducing the refresh rate to 1 Hz when possible allows these phones to save battery life. Previously, the LTPO panel was only used on Ultra models.
Last year’s Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ models dropped the refresh rate to 24Hz, which doesn’t save battery life as much as dropping it to 1Hz. The specs table published by WinFuture agrees with a leak revealed by Ice Universe five months ago. WinFuture also agrees with a change we spotted in the official Galaxy S24 series spec sheet recently published by one of the greatest insiders Evan Blass.
The Galaxy S24 series’ official spec sheet is also consistent with the change we spotted in the Galaxy S24 series’ official spec sheet recently published by one of the greatest insiders ever, Evan Blass.
The leaked specs from Blass revealed that the Galaxy S24+’s 6.7-inch display is not only slightly larger than the Galaxy S23+’s 6.6-inch screen, but will also have a higher resolution. Instead of the FHD+ (1080p) display used in the Galaxy S23+, the Galaxy S24+ will join the Galaxy S24 Ultra and will feature a QHD+ (1440p) resolution display.

All three Galaxy S24 models should be equipped with Bluetooth 5.3 support, but according to WinFuture, only the top-of-the-line Galaxy S24 Ultra will come with Wi-Fi 7, which was unveiled this week by the Wi-Fi Alliance with data speeds five times faster than Wi-Fi 6E; that’s what you’ll find on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. Finally, specs cited by WinFuture show that the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra will utilize Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology.
The Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra will come with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology.
Thanks to UWB, items tracked by Samsung’s SmartTag2 will be easier to find, as the direction and distance to the tracker will be displayed on a compatible Galaxy smartphone.
The new flagship Galaxy S24 series will be unveiled on Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. PT/1 a.m. ET. Pre-orders will begin the same day.
Additional pre-orders will begin the same day.
