vivo released the Y78 with a curved Snapdragon 695

The vivo company quietly unveiled a global version of the Y78. It’s bigger and features a different chipset, making it more similar to the April Y78+, though not exactly identical.
It’s not the same.

The global Y78 features a roomy 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution (20:9) and a fingerprint scanner located below the display. The display is curved, so the phone is relatively narrow, measuring 164.3×74.8×7.9 mm and weighing —177 grams.

It has an IP54-rated plastic case, which means it’s dust-proof and can withstand water.

In the perforation hole there is a 16MP camera (f/2.45), and on the back the only module of interest — 64MP sensor combined with an aperture of f/1.8 and optical image stabilization. Also on the back are a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

Y78 is powered by the Snapdragon 695. Not the fastest chipset, but it provides 5G connectivity. vivo uses 8GB of RAM (plus another 8GB of virtual memory) and generous 256GB of storage (no expansion slot, though). Note that the chipset limits video recording to 1080p @ 30fps, just like the Y78+. Either way, the phone runs FuntouchOS 13 on top of Android 13.
The Y78 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging, just like its namesake model. The phone comes with an 11V/4A charger and USB-C cable included, as well as a base case and a pre-adhered protective screen.

The price of the vivo Y78 has not yet been revealed, but the new phone should appear on store shelves soon. It is available in Dreamy Gold and Flare Black, both with a gradient effect.
