Sales of iPhone 16 started in Moscow

Today, September 20, sales of Apple’s new series of smartphones – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max – began in Russia simultaneously with the global launch. Some major retailers including MVideo, MTS, Apple Jesus, BigGeek and others showed off the new products a day before the official launch.

Apple plans to start shipping the first pre-ordered devices as early as next weekend. The new smartphone models were also shown off at other major retailers.

New Camera Button – enhanced photo and video capabilities

A new Camera Button is a new feature on Apple’s new devices that lets you flexibly control camera settings and quickly switch to taking photos or recording video. The Pro lineup also includes support for shooting in 4K at 120 frames per second, with the ability to slow it down up to 5x with the built-in editor.

Improved cameras in iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max

The flagship models’ cameras are even more powerful, with the 48-megapixel main camera now featuring a faster sensor. Full-resolution ProRAW and HEIF photos are supported. Also improved ultra-wide sensor, which now also has a resolution of 48 megapixels and supports shooting in full resolution in the same formats. The new products also get cameras with optical fivex zoom, something previous generations didn’t have.

Apple Intelligence

Sequoia, including the new iPhone 16 models. This system enhances content creation, image editing, and improved interaction with Siri. It can rewrite text, prioritize notifications, and even create unique images at the user’s request.

It’s still unclear whether Apple Intelligence will be available in Russia, however. In countries like China and the European Union, the rollout of these features has been delayed due to strict privacy laws and data regulation. It is likely that similar obstacles may arise in Russia, given local data retention requirements and peculiarities of legislation. More precise information about Apple Intelligence availability outside the U.S. is expected to be available soon, but for now, users in Russia will have to wait for clarification on the launch of these features.
