According to insider Digital Chat Station, the company intends to stick to its usual annual update cycle, keeping the device’s thin and light design. The new smartphone will get a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with Face ID support, but the main change will be an improved camera.

Apple plans to equip the second-generation iPhone Air with two 48-megapixel modules — a primary and an ultra-wide-angle one. That would be a major step up from the current model, which has only one camera, despite the company’s promotional claims of «multiple shooting modes». According to the leak, the two camera modules will be positioned horizontally, rather than vertically as in the iPhone 17. It’s not yet known whether the new model will be able to record spatial video — it’s for this feature that Apple once changed the orientation of the cameras on the base versions of the iPhone.
