The iPhone 17e will fix one of the major flaws of its predecessor
Apple introduced the iPhone 16e in February as the most affordable smartphone in the current lineup, but the reduced price came with a number of compromises. One of the most notable was the lack of MagSafe: the device has wireless charging, but without the magnetic system.
The future model is likely to feature the technology, however. According to a recent report, the iPhone 17e, which is expected to be released in early 2026, will still have MagSafe support.

In addition, the new product will reportedly feature Apple’s proprietary second-generation cellular modem —C1X. That modem first debuted in the iPhone Air unveiled in September, while the iPhone 16e uses an earlier version of the C1.

According to previous leaks, the iPhone 17e’s display will remain the same as its predecessor, but with thinner bezels. The front camera, meanwhile, will be updated — the smartphone is expected to get an 18-megapixel sensor, similar to the one used in all models in the iPhone 17 lineup.

The iPhone 17e is expected to be powered by the A19 processor, the same chip found in the standard iPhone 17. The main camera is rumored to remain unchanged, with a single 48-megapixel module like the iPhone 16e.
