Nio Phone 2 with a 100W charger is coming out soon

In September 2023, Chinese company Nio, best known for its electric cars, launched its first smartphone, the Nio Phone, in its home market. In March this year, the company’s CEO William Li confirmed that the Nio Phone 2 was in development. He also stated that the company plans to release one new phone every year. The arrival of the Nio Phone 2 is near, as the device has received approval on the 3C certification platform in China.
The Nio Phone 2 is now in its final stages of development.
3C Certification for Nio Phone 2
Before its launch, the Nio Phone with model number N2301 appeared on the 3C certification platform with a 100W charger. However, the phone only supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Nio Phone 2
A new Nio smartphone with model number N2401 has been spotted in 3C’s database, also with a 100W charger. This is likely to be the upcoming Nio Phone 2. While a 100W charger is specified, it is not known whether it will support 100W charging or 66W charging like its predecessor.
It should be noted that a Nio battery with model number NBET02 and a rated capacity of 4,900 mAh was spotted at the 3C certification in May. It’s likely that this battery with a typical capacity of around 5,000 mAh could power the Nio Phone 2. Recall that the Nio Phone appeared in 3C’s database in September and was officially unveiled in the same month. Thus, it’s possible that the Nio Phone 2 will debut later this month or in August.

Nio’s strategy and car integration
Nio’s decision to develop phones is a defensive strategy in response to Huawei and Xiaomi’s entry into the electric car market. As a reminder, the Nio Phone is designed to work like a full-fledged car key, allowing owners to unlock, lock and even start their vehicles using the phone, even when the phone is turned off. It also provides extensive vehicle management, allowing users to customize settings such as air conditioning, seats and music right from the phone. In addition, the phone seamlessly integrates with the vehicle’s infotainment system, providing features such as automatic synchronization of music and contacts, and seamless transitions of video calls between devices.
