Samsung has published a video revealing the new features of the 200MP ISOCELL sensor running on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. There are no smartphones with similar hardware on the market yet, so this is clearly a teaser for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Zoom Anyplace automatically tracks objects in the video, but still shoots full-frame footage zoomed out of the entire scene. This means the sensor allows you to shoot two streams of 4K video — a cropped area and the entire view, allowing you to change the cropping after you’ve finished shooting. And this will work for both 2x and 4x zoom.

The feature is also claimed to automatically track objects and keep them in focus in real-time, moving through the scene in any direction, including approaching the lens, while maintaining 4K resolution.

E2E (end-to-end) AI Remosaic — is a new way of processing images. Currently, the ISOCELL sensor processes photos sequentially — color by color, layer by layer. The new solution is parallel: color, tone, noise reduction, sharpening, HDR, demosaic, white balance correction and lens shading will be processed simultaneously.

This improvement will double the shooting speed, resulting in shorter processing time and better image quality.

Samsung said all the features are listed «for example» only. But we believe they will appear in the Ultra model, as it has been confirmed to feature a new flagship Snapdragon chipset and a 200MP sensor.
