Samsung is preparing to launch new foldable flagships – the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Both models will be officially unveiled in July 2025 at the Galaxy Unpacked event, and judging by the leaks, we’re in for not just another update, but a significant leap in design and features.

Galaxy Z Fold 7: record thin bezels and larger screen
According to insider Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone – the internal screen bezels will be just 1mm, which is smaller than the Z Fold 6 (1.9mm) and even the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra (1.32mm). When unfolded, the device will be larger than its predecessor: 158.4 × 143.1 mm. The screen will expand from 7.6 inches to 8.2 inches.
At the expense of that, the device will be larger than its predecessor: 158.4 × 143.1 mm.
A powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is expected inside, while the main camera will get a 200 MP sensor, a source told @TheGalox_ on Platform X. Despite the flagship level, the battery capacity – 4400 mAh – looks pretty modest by 2025 standards. Especially against the backdrop of Chinese competitors already using higher-density silicon-carbon batteries.

Galaxy Z Flip 7: smaller but with a bigger screen
Z Flip 7 has also gotten a major update. The outer display has grown to 4 inches (vs. 3.4 on the Z Flip 6) thanks to narrower bezels – just 1.2mm. The main screen is now 6.85 inches, and the thickness of the device when folded has been reduced to 6.9mm. That makes it not only more modern, but also noticeably more comfortable for everyday use.

The two new products will run on One UI 8, built on Android 16, and will get IP68 water and dust protection. There’s also reportedly a significant reduction in the visibility of the screen crease – another step towards a more premium feel.

Price and Expectations
The rumored Galaxy Z Fold 7 will cost around $1,899, while the price of the Z Flip 7 is yet to be specified. Against competition including the Oppo Find N5 series, Samsung is banking on visual and tactile improvements, hoping to maintain its leadership in the foldable device market.
