Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge will surprise with record thinness and bigger battery

According to reputable insiders, Samsung is preparing a revolutionary Galaxy S26 Edge smartphone that will be thinner than its predecessor, but will get a larger battery.

  • The case will be just 5.5mm thick (vs. 5.8mm for the S25 Edge)
  • Battery capacity can reach up to 4400 mAh
  • The device will replace the Plus model in the S26 lineup

The Ice Universe insider reports 4200 mAh, while Setsuna Digital’s source insists on 4400 mAh. If the second option is confirmed, it would mean a 500 mAh increase in battery with a reduction in thickness.

Samsung’s engineering solution is particularly interesting. The company has managed to achieve this combination without switching to silicon-carbon batteries. According to sources, Samsung is focusing on optimizing the internal layout, postponing the introduction of solid-state batteries until the next generation.

Experts note that even 4,200 mAh in a 5.5mm case — an impressive result. However, that’s still less than the 4,900mAh of the S25 Plus, which the S26 Edge is set to replace. How Samsung will make up the difference remains a mystery for now.

The Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to be released alongside the S26 Pro and S26 Ultra in early 2026. Traditionally, Samsung unveils new flagships in February. As we get closer to that date, we should expect more leaks that will shed light on the device’s specs.
