Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge gets the same 200MP camera as the Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge gets the same 200MP camera as the Ultra

Samsung was able to fit the flagship 200MP camera from the Galaxy S25 Ultra into the slim body of the new Galaxy S25 Edge. How did the company manage to do this? The answer lies in the redesigned camera module, which is nearly 20 percent thinner while retaining all the features of the top sensor.

The same camera as the Galaxy S25 Ultra – but in a thinner body

The Galaxy S25 Edge’s main draw is its 200MP main camera with F/1.7 aperture, optical stabilization (OIS) and Super QPD autofocus. This is the exact same sensor as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, the Edge uses a redesigned lens and compact assembly, which has reduced the thickness of the entire camera by 18%. This has allowed the device to retain its ultra-thin design without sacrificing the quality of the footage.

Without TV, but with «optical» zoom

Although the Galaxy S25 Edge doesn’t get a separate telephoto lens, it does support double optical-quality zoom -thanks to cropping technology from the sensor. This gives you the ability to shoot portraits and close-ups without loss of sharpness.

Support for Super HDR and Samsung LOG

The Galaxy S25 Edge camera is capable of shooting video in 10-bit Super HDR, which is based on Google Ultra HDR. Professional profile recording is also available Samsung LOG, which bloggers and videographers will appreciate – it gives a flat color profile for easy color correction in editing.

The rest of the cameras are the same as the rest of the lineup

  • Ultra Wide Angle Camera: 12MP, autofocus, F/2.2
  • Front camera: 12MP – like all Galaxy S25 models
  • Support for 4K 60fps recording on all cameras
  • Main camera supports 8K 30fps
  • recording
