Redmi previously launched the Redmi K70 Ultra with the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset in July 2024. With that in mind, the K80 Ultra is expected to debut on a similar timeline in 2025. While the leak doesn’t mention the device by name, the published data is almost certainly about the upcoming K80 Ultra.

According to the insider, the engineering prototype of the K80 Ultra features a flat OLED display with minimal bezels on all sides. The screen supports 1.5K resolution and integrates an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Like its predecessor, the device will have a metal center bezel and an IP68-rated body for dust and water resistance.

One of the major innovations will be the Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset. It is also reported that the Redmi K80 Ultra will get a battery with a capacity of at least 6,500 mAh. In comparison, the K70 Ultra had a 5,500 mAh battery, so the increase will be significant.

The insider also revealed plans for other manufacturers including iQOO, Realme and OnePlus to release smartphones based on the same Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset by mid-2025. Among the potential new products are the iQOO Neo 10S Pro, Realme Neo 7 Pro and OnePlus Ace 5s.

Realme and OnePlus intend to equip their devices with 1.5K resolution OLED displays, metal bezels, glass or fiberglass bodies, a high-quality main camera, and batteries with a capacity of over 7,000 mAh.
