Rumors about a triple-barrel device from Samsung have been floating around for quite some time. This week, however, more information has emerged. According to GSMArena, Samsung may call it the Galaxy G Fold, which would create a separate lineup from the current Z Fold series.

The triple-screen smartphone is expected to unfold into a 10-inch screen, making it larger and more functional than the company’s current flagships. For example, the Z Fold6 has a 7.6-inch screen when unfolded, while the Z Flip6 has a 6.7-inch screen.

Although Samsung won’t be the first manufacturer with a triple-shell device – Huawei has already released the Mate XT Ultimate – it can’t be bought in the US and is priced at $2,800. So Samsung will be the first company to release such a device in markets other than China.

Samsung typically announces new foldable devices in July, and it’s possible that a tri-fold smartphone will be unveiled this year with a launch in early 2026.

If Samsung does release this smartphone in 2026, it will beat out any foldable Apple devices, as Apple’s first such devices aren’t expected until 2026 at the earliest.

At the earliest, it’s likely that the smartphone will be released in 2026.
