Poco M6 Pro gets Snapdragon 4 Gen 2

As promised, Poco has unveiled the M6 Pro smartphone, powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor and comes in two configurations — 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB. It also features a microSD card slot for up to 1TB of expandable storage and runs MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The company promises two major Android version updates and three years of security updates, without mentioning the frequency of the latter.

Poco M6 Pro is built around a 6.79-inch FullHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 550 nits peak brightness and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass, but the company doesn’t specify what kind of glass.

The M6 Pro’s screen is centered around the 8MP selfie camera hole. Flipping the phone over, we see a glass back panel with two cameras — a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera. Powering the whole thing is a 5,000mAh battery that can draw power through the USB-C port at up to 18W, although the included adapter can go up to 22.5W.

Other features of the Poco M6 Pro include 5G connectivity, an IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone also comes with an IP53 rating. If all this sounds familiar, that’s because the Poco M6 Pro — is a rebranded Redmi 12 5G.
