The first benchmark of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has revealed a lot of important information

Samsung is set to release its next set of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, in early July this year. Production of these devices is well underway, and the company has already started benchmarking them.

Samsung has already started benchmarking them.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 benchmark appeared on Geekbench this week, revealing some key features of the upcoming phone. According to the benchmark, Samsung’s upcoming foldable smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which isn’t surprising.

The Snapdragon chip is accompanied by 8GB of RAM, but based on rumors and the fact that even Samsung’s new mid-range phones have 12GB of RAM, we can expect the Z Flip 6 to come in a 12GB RAM variant as well. The software version is Android 14, as expected, and the new flip phones are likely to come with One UI 6.1.1.

And as expected.

The performance of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is similar to that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra

.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 managed to score 15,050 in the GPU test, which is similar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Z Fold 6 is more compact, and assuming it doesn’t have the large cooling system found in the Galaxy S24 series phones, its score is pretty impressive. However, the lack of a large cooling system also means that the Z Flip 6 will throttle down much faster under prolonged load.

The Z Flip 6 is also more compact, and if you’re not looking at the Galaxy S24 Ultra, it’s much more compact.

According to previous reports, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will feature a larger cover display than the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the refresh rate of the cover display could be 120Hz instead of 60Hz. If rumors are to be believed, the Z Flip 6 may use an Exynos chip in some markets, though we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this doesn’t happen and everyone gets the fantastic Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip no matter where they buy the phone.

And we’d like to see the Galaxy Z Flip 6 get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip regardless of where they buy the phone.

See the rumors.
