In its latest move, ByteDance is diving into hardware, releasing its first headphones, Ola Friend Buds, which will initially only be available in China. These earbuds connect directly to ByteDance’s generative AI assistant Doubao, the country’s most popular GenAI app, with 47 million monthly active users.
The Ola Friend Buds are designed as personal audio assistants, allowing users to interact with Doubao without using a smartphone. Whether you’re traveling, learning English, listening to music, or just looking for company, the headphones are a versatile companion.
