Oppo Find X9s may get a 200MP periscope camera

The Oppo Find X9s lineup may get an unexpected camera upgrade: instead of the expected 50-megapixel telephoto lens, the smartphone series will get a 200MP optical zoom module, according to leaks. The models are expected to be announced in spring 2026.

The Oppo Find X9s series, which will include the Find X9s and Find X9s Plus models, was previously seen as a smaller offshoot of the main lineup. The devices were expected to be limited to a 50MP telephoto lens, but new information points to a serious beefing up of the photographic part. We’re talking about a full-fledged 200MP periscope camera focused on shooting with optical zoom.

The details so far are limited to the Oppo Find X9s, but the Find X9s Plus is expected to get a similar camera suite, differing mainly in the larger screen diagonal. This is an approach that Oppo has already used in previous generations of its flagships.

According to the leak, the Oppo Find X9s will feature a 6.3-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution. A similar resolution is noted to be used in the OnePlus 15. Under the screen will be an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner with 3D recognition support.

Autonomy could be another strength of the device. Sources are talking about a battery capacity of at least 7,000 mAh, which is noticeably above average for compact flagships. The smartphone is expected to support fast wired charging and will come straight out with Android 16 and the proprietary ColorOS 16 shell. IP68 or IP69 body protection is also mentioned.

The main focus is the camera. The Find X9s is rumored to get two 200MP modules based on Samsung’s HP5 sensor. One of them will be used as the main camera, while the other will be used as a 3x periscope telephoto lens. The ultra-wide-angle camera is likely to retain the 50MP sensor that was previously reported.

Release dates and outlook for the series

There’s no official confirmation from Oppo yet, so all information remains at the rumor level. However, sources are linking the release of the Find X9s and Find X9s Plus to the announcement of the Find X9 Ultra, which is expected in March 2026.

Traditionally, Oppo’s ultimates have often remained exclusive to the Chinese market. However, in the case of the Find X9 lineup, there’s the possibility of a wider release. If the Find X9 Ultra and its smaller versions do indeed release outside of China, the series could become one of the most notable offerings among 2026’s cameraphones.

The increase in resolution to 200MP alone doesn’t guarantee a multiple improvement in photo quality, but the use of large sensors and advanced optics makes such modules an important marketing and technological argument. Amid rumors of other flagships with dual 200MP cameras, competition in the mobile photography segment in 2026 promises to be particularly fierce.
