Oppo Find X8 series is officially unveiled

Oppo unveiled its flagship Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones at a special event in China. The devices stand out with new features and a redesigned design, and have the potential to be some of the best smartphones of the year.

Oppo’s Find X8 and Find X8 Pro flagship smartphones have been unveiled at a special event in China.

Screen and design:

• Oppo Find X8 gets a 6.59-inch flat LTPO OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 1-120Hz.
• Find X8 Pro features a slightly larger 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with the same specs, but with an innovative micro-square screen curve on all four sides. Both screens reach a maximum brightness of 1600 nits (global) and up to 4500 nits (local brightness for HDR content).
• The two smartphones are equipped with 32 MP front cameras and optical fingerprint scanners.

Cameras: The cameras have become one of the major advantages of the Oppo Find X8 series. The camera module is in Cosmos Ring design, which is smaller than the previous generation.

• Find X8 has a 50 MP main camera with Sony LYT-700 sensor that supports optical stabilization (OIS). There’s also a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 15mm equivalent and autofocus, and a 3x periscope with IMX882 sensor and OIS.

• The Oppo Find X8 Pro adds a second 50 MP periscope camera with 6x optical zoom and IMX858 sensor with OIS. The main camera in the Pro model received a larger Sony LYT-808 sensor (1/1.4″).

The two models use Oppo’s new HyperTone imaging engine, which combines 9 RAW frames to create images with high dynamic range and minimal noise. It also supports Hasselblad’s Portrait Mode and LivePhoto, which records short videos before and after the shot.

Performance: Both the smartphones are powered by the new Dimensity 9400 chipset and feature a cooling system with graphite layer, evaporation chamber and heat conducting gel. The smartphones come with the updated ColorOS 15 operating system with artificial intelligence support and a new interface design.

• Find X8 has a 5,630 mAh battery, while the Pro model gets a 5,910 mAh battery

• Both devices support 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Prices and availability:

• Find X8 is available in Starfield Black, Floating Light White, Chasing Wind Blue and Bubble Pink. Pricing starts at $590 for the 12/256GB version and goes up to $700 for the 16/512GB version.

• Find X8 Pro is available in Hoshino Black, Cloud White and Sky Blue colors. The starting price is $745 for the 12/256GB version, while the top-end package with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage costs $955.
