OnePlus: the company’s first foldable smartphone will be called Open

OnePlus’ first foldable smartphone will be called Open, as recent rumors have suggested. The use of the word «Fold» in the company’s announcement also lets us know that the OnePlus Open will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5.
Either way, the Open is expected to be announced at an event in New York in late August. We’ve already seen it in some leaked CAD renderings, and interestingly enough, it looks exactly like the leaked schematic showing the upcoming Oppo Find N3. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Open becomes an international version of the Find N3, which is expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market.

According to previous leaks and rumors, the OnePlus Open will feature a 6.3-inch overlay AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 20MP selfie camera located in a notch with holes. The main screen will be a 7.8-inch LTPO AMOLED with a likely 1900×2100 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The selfie camera is rumored to have a 32 MP resolution.

The processor used is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The main and ultra-wide-angle cameras are rumored to be identical to those on the OnePlus 11, while the third module will be a 64MP telephoto camera. The phone is expected to get a 4,800mAh battery and 67W fast charging support.
