OnePlus is preparing to expand its Ace 5 lineup with the Ace 5V, which will be the successor to the Ace 3V released in March 2024. Leaks indicate that the new product will offer significant improvements in hardware and performance.

  • Processor: The Ace 5V will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9350, which is an improved version of the Dimensity 9300 and is codenamed «Dimensity 9300++». This chipset offers high performance and power efficiency, making it a competitor to the Snapdragon 8s Elite.
  • Screen: The device features a 1.5K resolution flat screen with thin bezels for a premium visual experience.
  • Battery: Battery capacity will be 7,000 mAh, which is significantly higher than the 6,400 mAh of the Ace 5.

Comparison with predecessor

OnePlus Ace 3V included:

  • Battery: 5,500 mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3.

While the exact specifications of the Ace 5V’s cameras are not yet known, they are expected to at least retain the features of its predecessor or be improved.

Possible rebranding for the global market

Interestingly, the Ace 3V was released outside of China as the OnePlus Nord 4 with minor design changes. It is expected that the Ace 5V may also launch internationally as the OnePlus Nord 5, which is in line with the company’s strategy.

Launch date and competition

An official announcement date has yet to be announced, but it’s likely that the Ace 5V will debut in the coming weeks. The combination of a powerful processor, large battery and high-end display makes this model a strong competitor in the mid-price segment with flagship specs.
