Nubia Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition – vintage style, flagship camera and an under-screen selfie camera

Nubia has officially announced the Z70S Ultra Photographer Edition, a premium smartphone with a bias towards mobile photography. The launch will take place on April 28, as part of the Nubia AI Dual Flagship New Product Launch event, where another mystery product (possibly the brand’s first tablet) will be shown off.
The device has a retro camera design, with a red ring around the camera unit, a Neovision logo, and a textured “calfskin” back cover. The main camera is a new 35mm sensor, split in design with Periscope and Ultrawide.

This is the only 2024 Ultra lineup smartphone with an under-screen front-facing camera. The screen is 1.5K with blue diamond pixel layout and FIAA technology for thinner conductors. The UDC Ultra chip is responsible for the image quality and front camera.
The main sensor is claimed to be comparable to 1-inch sensors in size, with a focus on light capture and low noise in the dark. Nubia calls the device the new “king of night photography,” and publishes images with sharp detail and glare control.
