New details about Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: LTPO screen and improved battery

While we’re just forming our first impressions of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, information about another upcoming Samsung smartphone – the Galaxy S25 FE – has already leaked online.
According to a report from TechManiacs, the Galaxy S25 FE will get a low temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) based screen. This means that the refresh rate of the display will dynamically adapt depending on the content.
This technology is particularly useful for saving battery life, such as in Always On Display (AOD) mode. Unlike the Galaxy S24 FE, which also supports AOD but without LTPO, the new model will be able to reduce the refresh rate in the background, which will have a positive impact on battery life.
LTPO screens are commonly found in top-end devices like the Apple iPhone 16 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S25, so their appearance in the S25 FE could indicate the model’s more premium status compared with its predecessors.
Improved battery and charging
Another major update will be the battery: its capacity, according to insiders, will increase from 4700 mAh to 4900 mAh, and the wired charging power will increase from 25W to 45W.
Of course, this data remains a rumor for now – the final specs will only be known after the official announcement. Like the previous FE (Fan Edition) models, the new smartphone will occupy an intermediate position between the flagships and budget devices.
Other expected changes
According to leaks, the Galaxy S25 FE will get slimmer screen bezels, and it may use the Exynos 2400 as its processor. As for the cameras, the camera module is likely to remain the same as the Galaxy S24 FE.
When to expect the presentation?
The exact date of the announcement is still unknown, but given that the Galaxy S24 FE was released in September 2024, it’s logical to assume that its successor will debut around the same time – autumn 2025.
