A new update to the Galaxy A55 brings it closer to the One UI 7 beta version

Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A55. While this update isn’t particularly interesting, as it only adds the March 2025 security patch, it could serve as a precursor to the upcoming One UI 7 (Android 15) beta update.
Samsung recently published a list of devices that will receive the One UI 7 beta this month. The two devices that have already received the beta are the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, which updated with a security patch released for March 2025, just a day before.

There’s a chance that the same update scheme will be applied to the Galaxy A55, but the chances of that happening may be less than we’d like. The fact is that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 received the update in Korea, where a beta version is available. While the March update for the Galaxy A55 is rolling out in Europe, where Samsung has no plans to launch the One UI 7 beta for these devices.

As always, we can only wait and hope for the best. Samsung plans to start officially rolling out One UI 7 in early April, and there’s less and less time to avoid major delays (unless the early April deadline only applies to the Galaxy S24 series).
You can currently install the March 2025 security update (build number A556BXXS6AYB4) via Settings → Software Update on your Galaxy A55. You can also download the latest Galaxy A55 firmware from SamMobile.
