Nothing Phone (2): design confirmed

Nothing Phone (2) will be released on July 11, and now we have an official view of the back of the device in two color options — white and gray. At first glance, the design hasn’t changed much, but the device comes with a modified glyphic interface.

Talking about the glyphic interface, MKBHD shared an exclusive look at the Phone 2’s new rear panel design. The top and sides of the back panel are now slightly curved, which is another difference from the first Nothing phone.

Phone (2) features 11 segmented LED strips compared to 5 units on Phone (1). The updated Glyph Interface now has 33 LED backlight zones compared to 12 on the Phone(1), which should add a level of granular control over the LEDs.
Nothing Phone (2) supports volume control on the back, using the Glyph interface to display the volume level. The Glyph timer works in a similar way, displaying the remaining time on an LED bar on the back. The company has also added notifications to Essential that assign the top-right LED to a specific app, and the LED will stay lit until you clear the notification.
The Glyph timer works similarly.
Nothing will also work with third-party app developers to take advantage of the new glyphic interface.
