Nothing Phone (1) will get Phone software (2) in August

Nothing Phone (2) will finally be officially unveiled at a July 11 event. The device will come with Nothing OS 2.0, the company’s new shell on top of Android 13. It will be a pretty big release for the company, as the name implies — about 100 people worked on it.

Speaking of Phone (1), if you have one, you might be wondering when to expect the new OS 2.0 on your device, and the answer, according to CEO Carl Pei — by the end of August.

This is about a month and a half after the Phone (2) launch, so it’s not too bad. It’s still unclear what’s new in OS 2.0. But there have been rumors that the software team started working on it practically from scratch, so that sounds pretty intriguing.
