MWC 2025: Google Pixel 9 Pro is the best smartphone according to GLOMO Awards

Google didn’t unveil any new devices at Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, but its presence still drew attention. The company won two GLOMO (Global Mobile Awards) awards, one of which went to the Pixel 9 Pro
The GLOMO Awards are considered one of the most prestigious awards in the mobile technology industry and have been around for 30 years. This year, the Pixel 9 Pro won the award for Smartphone of the Year, confirming its status as one of the best Android flagships. Last year, the same title went to the Pixel 8 Pro, and the 2023 winner was Apple.
The Pixel 9 Pro has earned recognition for its excellent combination of hardware specs and advanced AI features. The device offers powerful software with deep Google Gemini integration, making it competitive against Samsung and OnePlus smartphones.
The second GLOMO award went to the Google Gemini itself, which is recognized as a winner in the Breakthrough in Innovation category. This category covers both hardware and software advances. Past winners have been Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (2024) and Apple Satellite SOS (2023). The jury evaluates technologies based on their impact on performance, functionality and usability. Google has proven that Gemini goes far beyond mobile devices and is actively growing across the entire ecosystem.
These wins underscore Google’s success in developing flagship smartphones and AI solutions. Perhaps the Pixel 10 will continue this trend, with Gemini gaining even more features and integrations.
With the Pixel 10, it’s possible that Google will continue the trend.
