iPhone 17e will get A19, MagSafe, and keep its $599 price tag
The iPhone 17e has been making waves in leaks over the past few weeks, and now trusted Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has confirmed details about Apple’s upcoming budget smartphone. His insights largely align with earlier rumors and shed light on some key features of the device.
According to Gurman, the iPhone 17e will run on the new Apple A19 chipset and gain MagSafe support – a significant upgrade since the iPhone 16e lacked magnetic charging. Additionally, the phone will feature Apple’s latest proprietary wireless and cellular modules, the C1X and N1, which are expected to boost both energy efficiency and connectivity quality.

There’s more good news on the pricing front. Apple is reportedly set to keep the starting price steady at $599, matching the previous generation. That makes the iPhone 17e one of the most attractive entry points in Apple’s lineup for anyone wanting a “new iPhone without the premium.”
As for design, the iPhone 17e is said to miss out on Dynamic Island and will look very similar to the iPhone 16e, with no major cosmetic changes planned.
The launch seems just around the corner. Gurman calls the release “inevitable,” while earlier leaks suggest the announcement could happen as soon as February 19.
