Huawei has launched the Mate X7 foldable smartphone

Huawei has unveiled its new Mate X7 foldable smartphone — a device that is lighter, thinner and stronger than the previous generation. The novelty received improved water resistance, a new Kirin 9030 Pro chip, an updated TV and a larger battery.
Although the Mate X6 was already compact and lightweight, the company was able to shrink the dimensions even further. The Mate X7 is 9.5mm thick when folded and 4.5mm when unfolded. It weighs — 235 grams, 4 grams less than its predecessor, while retaining the sturdy aluminum frame.
The smartphone is IP58 and IP59 protected — it’s resistant to dust, splashes and even powerful water jets.
The Mate X7 features larger displays: the outer screen — 6.49 inches with an aspect ratio of 20.4:9, the inner screen — 8 inches with an 8:7.3 aspect ratio. Both — LTPO OLED with 1-120Hz and 1440Hz PWM dimming.
Cameras also received upgrades. The main module — 50 MP with RYYB sensor, physical variable aperture f/1.4-4.0 and optical stabilization. The new telephoto lens is also 50 MP, with f/2.2 aperture and 3.5x optical zoom. The ultra-wide-angle module is — 40 MP. For selfies, there are two 8-megapixel cameras — on the outer and inner screens.

Performance is provided by the top-of-the-line Kirin 9030 Pro — the same one used in the Mate 80 Pro and Mate 80 Pro Max. It is rumored to be built on a nine-core ARMv8 architecture with a main core frequency of 2.75GHz. The smartphone is available with 12 or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
The battery is — a 5600 mAh dual-cell Si-C with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The device runs on HarmonyOS 6 and supports satellite connectivity.
The Mate X7 is available in black, white, purple and red colors. The 12/256GB starter version costs 12,999 yuan (about $1,830), while the 12/512GB model — 13,999 yuan (about $1,970). The 16/512GB collector version is priced at 14,999 yuan ($2,111), and the top-of-the-line 20GB/1TB configuration — 17,999 yuan ($2,534). Sales in China will begin on Dec.
