Honor introduced the Play 40 and 11.5-inch Pad X8 Pro tablet

Honor introduced the new Play 40 smartphone and sleek Pad X8 Pro tablet.
Honor Play 40
The Play 40 runs on the same Snapdragon 480+ chipset as the Play 30. This time, however, it has better memory configurations: 6/128GB, 8/128GB and even 8/256GB. In addition, you can add up to 5GB of virtual RAM. It runs with MagicOS 7.1 (based on Android 13), while its predecessor came with Android 11.
It’s a good choice.

The display remains the same —6.56-inch LCD with 720×1612 resolution (aspect ratio just over 20:9). It has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a 5 MP selfie camera.
The rear camera features a 13MP main camera with 1080p video recording capability and a 2MP depth sensor.

Going forward, the battery is slightly larger with a 5,200mAh capacity, but it still only supports basic 10W charging. In addition to the USB-C port, there’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the phone is Hi-Res Audio certified (both wired and wireless).

Really, the biggest update here —s the new look with four color options. The camera island is flat, but stands out with a different surface finish (the camera lenses do protrude), and there’s a shiny ring around the «AI camera» inscription.
The base model with 6/128GB of storage costs $190.
Honor Pad X8 Pro
With a diagonal of 11.5″ the Pad X8 Pro is larger than the Pad X8 (10.1″). Its IPS LCD has 2000×1200 resolution, 100% sRGB coverage, 400 nits peak and 2 nits minimum brightness. In addition, the display operates at 120Hz/90Hz /60Hz. The tablet also offers high-end audio with six speakers (two on three sides).
The Pro model features a Snapdragon 685 chipset that can be configured with 4/6/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It runs MagicOS 7.1 (Android 13).

Honor Pad X8 Pro has a metal body, quite thin and light — 6.9 mm and 495 grams. Inside is a 7,250 mAh battery that promises 13 hours of video playback. Three colors are available, and the design matches that of the Honor Play 40.

The 6/128GB version costs $150.
