Honor has announced the Magic 8 Pro Air compact smartphone

Honor will unveil the Honor Power 2 smartphone with Dimensity 8500 Elite processor and 10,080 mAh battery as early as January 8. However, amid the imminent announcement, the brand has also started hinting at another new product — a device from the Magic 8 series, which could also be unveiled this month. Judging by the teaser, a model called Magic 8 Pro Air could debut in China by the end of January or early February.
The words «Pro» and «Air» posted above Honor president Fanfei’s Weibo post indicate that the upcoming smartphone will use those designations. An official name has yet to be confirmed, but the device could come out as either the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air or simply as the Magic 8 Air.
According to an Experience More insider, the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air will be a compact smartphone with an ultra-thin body. It will get a 6.31-inch diagonal screen. It was previously reported that it will be a 1.5K LTPO OLED display with an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint scanner.

A MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor is expected inside the device. The smartphone is rumored to feature a 5500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The camera specs are yet to be revealed, but given the Magic 8 series affiliation, we can expect decent mobile photography capabilities. The device will run MagicOS 10 and will get a metal frame for increased durability.
It’s also reported that the Magic 8 Pro Air could be unveiled in China in about ten days. If this information is confirmed, official teasers showing off the design could come soon after the Honor Power 2 launch. According to the latest reports, the smartphone will be available in Feather White, Shadow Black, Light Orange and Fairy Purple colors.
