Honor introduced the 90 series with a 200 MP main camera

The Honor 90 and 90 Pro debuted in China today. The phones are a slight improvement over their predecessors, and the most impressive feature is the 200 MP main camera with the ISOCELL HP3 sensor.

Both phones feature a 5,000mAh battery. The launch took place in China, but the company confirmed in a press release that the devices will enter the international market.

Honor 90 ProThe Pro variant features a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and a 6.78-inch 10-bit AMOLED display with a resolution of 2700×1224 pixels. The panel features 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support and brightness over 1,000 nits.

Beyond the center perforation are two &#8212 selfies cameras; a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP depth sensor with 4K video recording.

There’s a significant upgrade on the back — a 200 MP main camera with a 1/1.4″ sensor and an f/1.9 aperture. The pixels are 0.56 μm and increase to 2.24 μm thanks to a 16-to-1 pixel binning. The ultra-wide-angle camera has 12MP resolution and a 112-degree angle of view, and there’s also 32MP portrait shooting with 2.5x optical zoom and OIS.

The 5,000mAh battery supports 90W charging, and Honor claims it takes 15 minutes to charge to 56%. The phone features dual stereo speakers and a Turbo X GPU for gaming enthusiasts. Other features include MagicUI 7.1 on top of Android 13, NFC and 3840 Hz UHF PWM dimming.

Honor 90 Pro is available for pre-order in four colors — silver, black, green and Ice Feather Blue. The 12/256GB version is priced at $465, the 16/256GB version is $510, and the 16/512GB —$550. First sales are scheduled for June 7.

Honor 90The base Honor 90 comes with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, but the company has increased the frequency of the most powerful Cortex-A710 core from 2.4 GHz to 2.5 GHz.

The phone is built around a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2664×1200 pixels, 1 billion colors and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. According to the official website, it has a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.

Selfie camera —s the same 50MP camera with f/2.4 as on the Pro. The 200 MP main camera and 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera on the back are also shared, but the third camera — is a basic 2 MP depth sensor instead of a telephoto lens. There is no OIS here, but the phone will be equipped with EIS.

The battery here comes with a 66W charge, and it’s also compatible with 40W Power Delivery if you don’t have a branded charger handy. Neither the Honor 90 nor the 90 Pro supports wireless charging.

The base smartphone also comes in four colors — green, black and Ice Feather Blue are the same as the Pro. The fourth, silver, has a Star Diamond pattern. The 12/256GB version is priced at $355, the 16/256GB version — $395, and the 16/512GB version — $425. The sale will begin June 7.
