Google Pixel 8a: leaked renders

Google recently unveiled its newest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, but of course there will be a third member of the family — the more affordable mid-range Pixel 8a smartphone. It’s expected to be released in the next few months, and today it showed up in all its glory in a few CAD renders.

The design language is, unsurprisingly, incredibly similar to what we saw in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, right down to the very rounded corners — as it should be, since all three devices share the same name.

The camera protrusion is on the back and the screen has more prominent bezels compared to the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, suggesting the lower price of the 8a. The Pixel 8a measures 152.1×72.6×8.9 mm. This means that its dimensions will be almost the same as its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, which measures 152×72.9×9 mm. So the 8a’s screen size should be around 6.1 inches, and the back panel can be seen to have a hole in the center for the selfie camera, as well as two cameras.

According to an August benchmark, the Google Pixel 8a will be powered by an overclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset, which is also used in the other two Pixel 8 models. The 8a will feature 8GB of RAM and, of course, will run Android 14 from day one of release.
