Google Pixel 8 will be more expensive than its predecessor

The Google Pixel 6 and 7 both had price tags of $600 at launch, and the Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro —$900. So how much will the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro cost? The Pixel 7a has already set a precedent for pricing $50 higher than the 6a, so you could wishful thinking by saying that the Pixel 8 series will stick to the $600 and $900 price points.
Yogesh Brar reports that the Pixel 8 will cost $650 or $700, which is $50 to $100 more than the 2022 model. That’s for the same base configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Google Pixel 8 will get some improvements, like a brighter 120Hz display (though slightly smaller). Apparently, it will also have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner instead of an optical one.
Brar also confirms leaked specs so far, including changes to the battery system — a slightly larger 4,485 mAh with 24W wired and 12W Qi wireless, compared to 4,355 mAh with 20/20W charging (note that wireless charging without Qi can reportedly reach 20W).

It’s unclear whether Google’s Pixel 8 Pro will also be raised in price — older Pro models already cost $300 more than their base versions. Brar notes that the Pixel 8 series can be expected to launch in early October (as the Pixel 7 series did last year).
