2025 has already been a busy year for Samsung, but by the looks of it, the most exciting things are ahead. The company is preparing significant new products that should show that, despite criticism for monotony, the Korean giant is still capable of surprising – or at least diversifying – its lineup.
We’re talking about the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (working title). Despite the radically different form factor, these models have one thing in common – they will leave neither fans nor skeptics indifferent. Here’s why they’re really worth keeping an eye on.
Galaxy S25 Edge: A return to ultra-slim design
Galaxy S25 Edge will be a breath of fresh air for those who are tired of the same-old “bricks”. The device will retain its classic shape, but will have an ultra-thin body, rumored to be just 5.8mm thick. Samsung hasn’t paid much attention to downsizing for a long time, and the S25 Edge could be the first flagship of the new generation in this direction.
But the developers promise not to sacrifice performance for compactness – we’re talking about a full-fledged flagship, which will be priced between the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra.
Even if you’re skeptical of Samsung’s products, it’s at least curious to see how durable this slim design will be and how it will behave in real-world use.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: A chance to make foldable smartphones mainstream
The second model – the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (or possibly the Z Flip FE or Z Flip SE) – is still purely rumored, but interest in it is already off the charts. And for good reason: we’re talking about potentially Samsung’s first affordable foldable smartphone.
Fans of the brand have long been waiting for this category to get cheaper. While devices like the Galaxy Z Flip 6 remain expensive and niche, the Z Flip 7 FE could finally expand its audience. If the rumors come true, foldable gadgets will be closer to the mainstream consumer in 2025.
It’s important to realize, though: the «FE» prefix doesn’t yet guarantee a low price. Last year, for example, the Galaxy Z Fold SE sold for more than the regular Fold 6. So Samsung may well follow a similar path with the Flip lineup. Everything will depend on the positioning of a particular model.
There’s still hope, though. If the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE does come at a reasonable price, it could change the entire foldable category and set a new market trend.
The Z Flip 7 FE is tentatively expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2025 – a little later than the standard Z Flip 7.
