Apple has revealed the battery capacity of the iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17 Pro

Apple has officially released the battery specifications in the new iPhone models unveiled at its September unveiling. The exact figures for all devices in the 2025 lineup are now known.
- iPhone 17 – 3,692 mAh (+3.7% to iPhone 16)
- iPhone Air – 3,149 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro – 4,252 mAh (+18.7% over iPhone 16 Pro)
- iPhone 17 Pro Max – 5,088 mAh (+8.6% to iPhone 16 Pro Max)
For comparison, the performance of last year’s iPhone 16 series looked like this:
- iPhone 16 – 3,561 mAh
- iPhone 16 Plus – 4,674 mAh
- iPhone 16 Pro – 3,582 mAh
- iPhone 16 Pro Max – 4,685 mAh
In Europe, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models retain the physical SIM tray, but regulatory filings indicate that the capacities may apply to the eSIM versions as well. There’s no clarification from Apple yet. That said, the iPhone Air is released exclusively with eSIM worldwide, so its battery is the same in all markets.
The company also unveiled a new MagSafe battery for the iPhone Air that extends the device’s total battery life to 40 hours.
