Samsung is preparing Galaxy A57 with Exynos 1680 chip

Samsung is preparing an update to its popular Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A57, which is set to replace the A56 in 2026. According to GalaxyClub, the smartphone will get an Exynos 1680 processor, which promises a marked improvement in performance over the previous generation.

Samsung’s new Galaxy A series is expected to be the next generation of the smartphone.

The Exynos 1680 chip (codenamed S5E8865) will be Samsung’s continued development of processors for the mid-range segment. According to rumors, it will feature an Xclipse 550 GPU based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture. RDNA 3.5 is used in the upcoming Exynos 2500 flagship processors, which, according to insiders, will form the basis of the Galaxy S26 and Z Flip 7.

The exact specifications of the Exynos 1680 have not been revealed yet. However, if we focus on the performance of the last Exynos 1580 model installed in the Galaxy A56 (the average result in AnTuTu is about 906 thousand points), a 15-25% performance boost is expected. Presumably, AnTuTu results of Exynos 1680 can reach 1.1-1.2 million points, and the graphics processor – 300-350 thousand points.

The chip will reportedly be made using a 4nm process and get a new configuration of cores: 1+4+3, which could improve overall power efficiency. The Galaxy A56 used a three-cluster CPU: 1 x Cortex-A720 (2.9GHz), 3 x Cortex-A720 (2.6GHz) and 4 x Cortex-A520 (1.95GHz).

The Galaxy A57 is expected to retain the main features of its predecessor: a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging support. Key innovations could include a camera with a 2-3x optical zoom lens and support for 4K video shooting at 60fps, which will allow the smartphone to compete with Vivo models.

The Galaxy A57 is expected to be priced at around ₹45,990 (~$550) for the Indian market. The smartphone is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2026. Official specs and benchmark results should come closer to the announcement.
