Qualcomm has unveiled Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 – it’s already confirmed in the Redmi Note 15 Pro+

Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 single-chip system, which replaces last year’s 7s Gen 3. The new chip has received moderate performance improvements and a number of features focused on mobile gaming. The first smartphone with this platform will be the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, which is scheduled to launch on August 21 in China.
Snapdragon 7s Gen 4: specs and performance gains
Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is built using 4nm process technology and utilizes a 1+3+4 CPU configuration based on Kryo cores. The main core is a Cortex-A720 with up to 2.7GHz – this is slightly higher than its predecessor (2.5GHz). The other cores remain the same: three Cortex-A720s at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A520s at 1.8GHz.

Qualcomm claims a 7% performance boost in both CPU and graphics. The visual improvements are powered by an updated Adreno GPU with Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 technologies to optimize performance and improve visuals in games.
Display, camera and AI support
The chipset is capable of handling screens with resolutions up to 2900×1300 pixels and refresh rates up to 144Hz – the focus on gamer smartphones is obvious. Cameras up to 200MP and 4K video recording at 30fps with HDR10 and HDR10+ are supported.
Hexagon NPU’s built-in AI module now supports Llama 1B and Qwen 1B language models – this will enable real-time translation features and more efficient AI apps.
The chip is equipped with advanced communication modules: 5G (sub-6GHz), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Lossless and support for UFS 3.1 and LPDDR5 RAM.
Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will be the first to get Snapdragon 7s Gen 4
Although Qualcomm hasn’t specified which smartphone will be the first on the new chip, it’s already confirmed that the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will get Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. The device will be unveiled on August 21 in China. It’s also known that the model will feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with 120Hz resolution, a 7,000mAh battery, and 90W fast charging.
