Qualcomm is preparing to announce the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in September

New leaks have surfaced about Qualcomm’s next flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the chip will be officially unveiled as early as late September. When the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be unveiled

According to an insider, the chip will debut in late September 2025. The first smartphones with the new processor will go on sale as early as October.

So Qualcomm plans to directly compete with Apple and its iPhone 17 lineup, which is also expected in September. Rumor has it that some of the first devices based on the new chip will be the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro.

According to leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will get a serious performance boost over its predecessor. The main improvements:

CPU frequency: base frequency of 4.4GHz vs. 4.32GHz for the previous model.
CPU architecture: second generation of Qualcomm’s proprietary architecture.
GPU cache: increased from 12MB to 16MB, providing a 30% performance boost.

In addition, the processor will be manufactured using TSMC’s third generation 3nm process. This allows for a 4% increase in performance while reducing power consumption by 9% without increasing clock speeds. The chip will also support a new SME instruction set within the Arm64 architecture. This will enable more efficient multimedia and graphics processing.
