MediaTek Dimensity 9500 beats Snapdragon 8 Elite in AnTuTu test

MediaTek Dimensity 9500 beats Snapdragon 8 Elite in AnTuTu test

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Dimensity 9500 chips are still months away from official release, but leaks keep popping up. This time, well-known Chinese insider Digital Chat Station has shared AnTuTu benchmark results for MediaTek’s new flagship chip.

According to the leak, the Dimensity 9500 has scored over 400,000 points in AnTuTu, which is about 17% higher compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite’s best score. Given that the release is still a long way off, the scores could change after final optimization.

The insider also revealed that the L3 cache will increase from 12MB to 16MB, which should improve memory performance and speed up switching between apps. This could seriously impact the smoothness of multitasking.

The chip is expected to be built on TSMC’s 3nm N3E process. Its architecture will include two Cortex-X930 cores codenamed “Travis” and six Cortex-A730 “Gelas” cores. The senior cores will have a maximum clock speed of up to 4GHz – 10% higher than the Dimensity 9400.

At the same time, the Dimensity 9400 will have a maximum clock speed of up to 4GHz.

In the long term, Apple, Qualcomm and MediaTek are expected to switch to TSMC’s 2nm process technology. We’re talking about Apple’s upcoming A20, Snapdragon 8 Elite 3 and Dimensity 9600 chips. The switch will bring improvements in power efficiency and performance, but it will also affect the cost of production – possibly making 2026 smartphones more expensive.
