Intel unveiled its 14th generation Raptor Lake Refresh processors

Intel has officially unveiled the new generation of Raptor Lake Refresh processors (14th generation Core chips) for desktop computers.
Intel has officially unveiled the new Raptor Lake Refresh processors (14th generation Core chips) for desktop computers.
As reported by insiders, the lineup consists of three models — Core i9-14900K, Core i7-14700K and Core i5-14600K (plus three models with an F index, meaning no integrated graphics core). Most interestingly, this generation hasn’t received any significant changes — the manufacturer is using the same core architecture as in Raptor Lake, the processors are manufactured using the same Intel 7 process, which is actually 10nm, and supports exactly the same LGA 1700 socket.

The main advantage of the Raptor Lake Refresh generation chips is the increased clock speeds, the ability to work with faster DDR5 memory modules.

The flagship Core i9-14900K chip will run at up to 6GHz with Thermal Velocity Boost. It was 23% faster than the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D in Starfield at 1080p resolution and 54% faster in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
The Core i7-14700K got a configuration of 8 performance cores and 12 energy efficient cores, meaning there are 20 cores and 28 threads. Surprisingly, the least interesting processor is the Core i5-14600K, which has the same configuration of 8 performance and 8 power-efficient cores, the same cache and TDP, but the overclocked frequency has increased by 200MHz.

Prices are the same as the previous generation chips and sales have already started:
- i5-14600KF without graphics core – 294 dollars (28 600 rubles);
- 14-core Intel Core i5-14600K – 319 dollars (31 000 rubles);
- 20-core i7-14700K – 409 dollars (39 800 rub.);
