The names nova 12 and nova 12 Pro have appeared on some leaked reports, suggesting that the Kirin 830 chip will only be used in the base version of the smartphone. The Kirin 830’s performance is rumored to be on par with the Snapdragon 778G or Snapdragon 870. The more important question is who will manufacture the chipset, as 5G technology and patents are still owned by US companies that are prohibited from trading with Huawei or its subsidiary chipset maker HiSilicon.
