Computex 2025: Qualcomm won’t give us new Snapdragon chips, but we’re in for a surprise in September

Qualcomm won’t unveil new Snapdragon chips at Computex 2024, but the next generation of Snapdragon system-on-chip (SoC) is scheduled to be announced on September 23 during the Snapdragon Summit event in Hawaii.
Snapdragon’s next-generation system-on-chip (SoC) is scheduled to be unveiled during the Snapdragon Summit event in Hawaii.
It was low-key during today’s keynote at Computex 2025. No exciting chip announcements; instead, Amon (Qualcomm CEO) took the stage and talked about the progress Qualcomm has made with the Snapdragon platform over the past year. A key factor he pointed out was the rapid growth of apps supported by the Snapdragon X Elite platform, as well as the more than 1,400 games that can now be played on Snapdragon laptops.

The presentation also hinted at future products, with the next generation of Snapdragon X2 and X2 Elite chips expected for laptops and premium devices. The new models are expected to have improved performance and will be targeted at different market segments.
Snapdragon desktop PC systems are also being discussed, but so far it’s mostly mini-PCs and monoblock-like systems. Qualcomm continues to strengthen its position in the integrated processor market, with about 9 percent market share in the U.S. and 5 percent in the top five European countries.
