Apple’s A17 Pro chip has appeared in Geekbench

Earlier this week, Apple announced the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max — the first smartphones on the market with a 3nm chipset. The A17 Pro is a 6-core processor with two performance cores and four efficiency cores, which Apple claims offers a 10 percent speed boost over the A16 Bionic.

Gekbench has released benchmark results for the iPhone 15 Pro, revealing some additional details about Apple’s A17 Pro chip, as well as comparing it to last year’s A16 Bionic.

The benchmark results for the iPhone 15 Pro are now available in Geekbench.

iPhone 15 Pro (6.1) scored 2,908 on the single-core process and 7,238 on the multi-core process. By comparison, last year’s iPhone 14 Pro scored 2,500 single-core and 6,400 multi-core in Geekbench, which translates to a 16% improvement in single-core score and a 13% increase in multi-core in the new iPhone 15 Pro. Geekbench also revealed that the base frequency of the A17 Pro processor’s performance cores is 3.78GHz, making it the fastest performance chipset in mobile devices. No word yet on the clock speeds of the performance cores.

iPhone 15 Pro Max (6.2) scored 2,846 single-core and 7,024 multi-core points, respectively. New Geekbench reports also confirm 8GB of RAM, as previously reported by Xcode. It will be interesting to see how the new 3nm A17 Pro chip performs in terms of efficiency, given the new 3nm process.
