Rumor: Apple will use its 5G modem starting in 2025

Apple has been working on its own 5G modem for some time now and has yet to release an iPhone with its own 5G chip. This means that the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 will use Qualcomm 5G modems, and the iPhone 17 could possibly be the first iPhone to use a 5G modem of its own design. We’ve also heard that the iPhone SE 4, which has reportedly been delayed until 2025, will use Qualcomm’s own 5G chip.

There are no details about Apple’s 5G modems, so it’s unclear what improvements and benefits they will bring to the iPhone compared to Qualcomm’s 5G chips.
