A month and a half after the Ryzen 9000 processors were announced, AMD has revealed the launch date and shared the results of internal testing. If the numbers are to be believed, AMD’s processors promise to significantly outperform current-generation competitors.

The AMD Ryzen 9000 (Granite Ridge) processors based on the Zen5 microarchitecture will be announced on July 31, 2024. The series will include four models: the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X. AMD has already shared their specs earlier, and this time they’ve compared the performance of the processors with their competitors.

In gaming, the Ryzen 9 9950X bests the Intel Core i9-14900K in Horizon Zero Dawn (by 23%), and in Blender, where it beats Intel’s flagship by 56% when using professional software.

The Ryzen 9 9900X beat the Core i9-14900K by 22% in Horizon Zero Dawn and 41% in Handbrake video converter. For some reason, there was no comparison with Intel’s flagship in Blender.

Ryzen 9700X has been compared to the Core i7-14700K. AMD’s chip had a 42% advantage in Handbrake and a 31% advantage in Horizon Zero Dawn. The rival of Ryzen 9 9600X, in turn, was Core i5 14600K. Here the gap of AMD novelty in the same disciplines amounted to 94% and 29% respectively.

The company has not yet announced official prices for the processors. Unconfirmed figures, however, are already available – they were published by Philippine online store Bermorzone. If the information is accurate, the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X will cost about $647 (56,800 rubles), Ryzen 9 9900X – $596 (53,330 rubles), Ryzen 7 9700X – $409 (35,900 rubles), and the most affordable Ryzen 9600X chip will cost $315 (27,660 rubles).

Of course, the Ryzen 9 9900X will cost $305 (27,660 rubles).
