Microsoft has stripped Xbox Game Pass subscribers of their DLC discounts, replacing them with reward points

After raising the cost of Xbox Game Pass subscriptions to $30 a month, Microsoft has another nasty surprise in store for users. A company spokesperson confirmed that subscribers will no longer receive the usual DLC discounts. Instead, they’ll be awarded bonus points in the Microsoft Rewards program.
As the company clarified, the changes don’t just apply to Call of Duty, where they were first noticed, but to absolutely all games and add-ons in the Game Pass library. Ultimate subscription owners will now receive 10 percent of their purchase back in the form of Rewards points, while Premium users will receive — 5 percent.

Earlier this month, Microsoft said the goal of Game Pass — to provide «unrivaled value» through a wide library of games. At the same time, it announced the addition of 45 more projects and a $10 price increase. Now, subscribers have lost the direct 10 percent discount and are forced to settle for nothing more than cumulative bonuses.
