Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis mobile game gets a closed beta on Android

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis mobile game will get a closed beta test next month. Following the release of the trailer during Summer Game Fest, it was announced that pre-registration for the beta begins today. According to the game’s official website, players will be able to pre-register for the closed beta until June 28. The beta will then run from July 6 to July 13.
Unfortunately for iPhone users, the beta will only be available on Android 8.0 and above, and will only be available to players in the U.S. and Canada. However, when the final version of the game is released, it will be available on both Android and iOS devices.
Initially announced in 2021, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is a mobile retelling of events from Final Fantasy VII and the spin-offs Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus.
Even though the game will be free to play, there will be lootboxes containing weapons and equipment. Square Enix also announced at Summer Game Fest that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released in early 2024 and will be available on two discs.
