Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will become free due to the release of Battlefield 6

Developers of popular multiplayer games regularly run promotions in the form of free play periods. The goal of such events is usually to attract new players, but Activision seems to have found an original use for this strategy.

October 9 through October 15, everyone will be able to try out Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for free. As stated, the developers do not plan to impose any restrictions on access to content: the story campaign, multiplayer battles, zombie mode and The Haunting, a Halloween themed mode, will be available during the week.

The network speculates that the publisher’s decision to make the game temporarily free-to-play is no coincidence. Battlefield 6 is set for release on October 10, and many believe Activision is deliberately trying to overshadow the game’s release to its rival Electronic Arts. However, this conspiracy theory remains unproven, as the company has run similar promotions before.

It’s worth remembering that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is scheduled for release on November 14. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
