Xiaomi has quietly released the new Redmi Bluetooth Speaker 2 portable speaker in China. The new product is available in three vibrant colors — matte black, green and coral — and costs just 99 yuan (roughly $14).

The speaker is round in shape, the front is covered with fabric mesh, and a glossy «waist» gives the device a neat look. The weight is comparable to an apple, and it comes with a metal carabiner for attaching it to a backpack or belt.

The inside features a 1.5-inch 5W speaker and a large passive radiator for enhanced bass and more balanced sound. The two speakers can be paired in stereo.
Redmi promises up to 5 hours of battery life from its 1,000 mAh battery. Charging is via USB-C, and when connected to a PC, the speaker can work as an external sound card. There’s also a microSD slot, allowing you to listen to music without a smartphone.
