Vivo will unveil the Vision mixed reality headset on August 21

Vivo has announced the premiere of its new mixed reality headset, the Vivo Vision Exploration Edition, on August 21 in China. It will be the second MR device from the renowned Android brand, following the HTC XR Elite introduced in 2023.
The device will be the second MR device from the renowned Android brand, following the HTC XR Elite.
Lightweight body and advanced features
Vivo Vision is positioned as a mixed rather than virtual reality headset – it combines real-world imagery with digital overlays. The device will weigh around 380 grams, which is noticeably lighter Apple Vision Pro (650g) and comparable to the AirPods Max headphones. This solution will reduce the strain on your nose and head during prolonged use.
The front panel is equipped with at least six cameras or sensors to provide accurate passthrough mode and a deeper immersion into the MR environment.

Flagship hardware and integration with Vivo smartphones
The headset is built on a Qualcomm processor and belongs to the premium MR device segment. It supports Gaze tracking and Hand gesture control -functionality that few models on the market have yet to offer.
Special attention is paid to integration with the Vivo ecosystem, particularly the upcoming X200 Ultra. Panoramic photos taken with this smartphone will be viewable in spatial video format via Vivo Vision.

Limited Release and Test Sessions
Since the version carries “Exploration Edition” status, it won’t go on mass sale in 2025. After the unveiling, users will be able to sign up for test sessions at Vivo branded stores to evaluate the device and leave feedback for improving future models.
