Etsy co-founder develops MR device Loop

Former Etsy CEO Robert Kalin has founded a startup called Dopple Works, which is working on a mixed reality device, according to Lowpass. The new gadget is called Loop and could be the company’s first product.
The device has appeared in FCC documents and patents
Information about the Loop has come to light following a filing with the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). According to the documentation, the device will be battery-powered and support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless interfaces. Details of the specs are not publicly available.

A patent application has also been discovered that describes Loop as a “portable spatial computing device.” The application is accompanied by images showing the design elements: a camera, a speaker, an environment tracking sensor, and a screen for displaying mixed reality content.
The purpose of the device has not yet been disclosed
It is unknown at the current stage what Loop is intended for. Judging by the design features, the device looks like a magnifying glass with augmented and virtual reality elements. Some speculate that it could be used to scan and analyze objects in space, but there has been no official comment from Dopple Works.
Loop remains a mystery, but its concept could set a new direction in the personal MR gadget segment. The startup maintains strict confidentiality, which adds to the interest in the project.
